Open House

Do you ever feel like things were put in your path for a reason?

The cardinal, the cardinal, the cardinal!! What can I say? It's there in my face, pretty obvious what it is symbolizing. How could it not be?! Showing up the day she passed & then in Texas racing us to the funeral home on a busy road? Everywhere since then......

  • Last weekend we had a little red visitor as we ate hot dogs from the truck on the side of the road. I was able to capture that one in a picture.
  • Yesterday Chad & I were driving down a major Parkway here on Long Island and a large feathery flash of red flew in front of us to the trees on the right. We both were a bit stunned and I said, "Wow ~Did you see that? Was that really a cardinal on this busy Parkway?" YUP....
"OPEN HOUSE"

Chad & I were headed to look at our first house for sale yesterday afternoon.
We are officially househunting now.

The first house we were to look at was an open house. We made it there just before it ended. There in this empty house was the real estate broker. Dressed casually in black leggings and a purple hooded zipdown sweater with faux fur. She was wearing flipflops showing off a much needed pedicure but could see why she hadn't, she had scrapes all over her toes. She had brown straight hair with blonde highlights. Very tan. She must not have weighed over 100 pounds. She had a box of 50 Dunkin donut munchkins on the kitchen counter with only MY favorite - glazed!! She had a big smile and an energy that was just sweet as can be. She chattered on about excusing her toes - she was in the bahamas and had a run-in with the rocks on some rapids. She then went on to say she was a cat rescuer and had two german shephards. She was funny! I liked her. Hmmmm, what was it about her that reminded me of someone? She was someone I could easily be friends with! We had a lot in common. I couldn't believe it when she told me her age - she looked so young. She's the exact age as me. I looked out the window at the backyard and saw a cardinal, blue jay and the little dark gray bird that is always with my cardinal at my home. I said out loud, "Wow, a cardinal!". The real estate broker said "Yeah, my mom is a big fan of the cardinal, she thinks it's sent to her by her mom"....I turned around and looked at her and said, "That's true. They have been in my life since my sister Mary died in 2008". The real estate broker smiled and said, "My name is Mary too".

Isn't that cool? I knew Mary was with me, I just knew!

I am sorry to hear of your loss, but happy I found your blog. I created a similar site for my mom on facebook. Anyway, what cigar factory in Brooklyn Heights? !!

Thank you Ken... memories are meant to be shared not tucked away in an attic I'm sure you agree :) ~ our loved ones who have passed deserve that!
Down by the Empire Fulton State park (something like that)... between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge. certainly you've been yes?

Hi Jeni
I love to see a red cardinal(such a rare sight in Brooklyn!) and I think it's so beautiful that they have become a special reminder of your sister! Thanks for commenting on my blog so I could find yours :)

Hi Jeni,

I'm loving these synchros about Mary and cardinals. As with what you shared at the salon, truly remarkable, moving, and healing!
A million thanks for all that you do.

Hi Dave,
I'm so happy you found my Maryblog and love my synchros, signs and cardinals of love from above.
It really is amazing isn't it? See what I mean about "fun"? I didn't label this one synchronicites because i thought it was more "signs"... I don't know for sure. what do you thinK? In this story I didn't really think or wish anything, it just happened. Sign or Synchro?
P.S. I'm going to blog a cool synchro this weekend :)
Much love,
jeni
